JUNIOR CADETS UNIT (J.C.U.)

The J.C.U. is a Unit (or "program") for children 18 years and under who can become members of the J.A.I. as a Jr. Member and participate in various day program activities under adult supervision such food handouts, fundraisers, Clothing drives, etc.  The J.A.I. also recognizes not only just the need to adequately protect the youth of society, but the vital role that they play in this struggle for a safe community. That is a philosophy that informs The Junior Cadets Unit, and it is also an early prevention program which teaches values and instills a sense of purpose.

These children will develop self-esteem through role-playing, verbal defense skills, and community projects that give them a positive sense of purpose.  With so much peer pressure to choose violence as a means of resolving disputes, this Unit exerts a strong, positive influence on the child’s development and teaches each child how to make the right choices, and helps them to recognize that they have talents and interests that are of value.

Children are taught how they can function within their community to enhance their community. The J.C.U. also doubles as a inner city urbanized youth outreach in our local areas that provides resources, services, and developmental exposure that are non-traditionally accessible.
